2018

School Renovations

We started our school renovations with the chalkboards, then created more engaging primary classrooms, and finally upgraded the libraries with books and librarian training.

2019

In School But Not Learning: Documentary Release

We premiered the documentary “In School But Not Learning” in London, bringing attention to the challenges within Ghana’s education system and sparking important conversations.

2020

Commitment and Service in the Fight Against COVID-19

During COVID-19, our family outreach was recognised by the International Human Rights Commission and featured in two major Ghanaian news outlets. We also supported schools with PPE for reopening.

2021

Brick by Brick– School Washroom Construction

We raised £7,000 to support girls’ education by building a clean, safe, and private toilet at a partner school. Five months later, it was completed, benefiting over 100 students and teachers.

2022

Child Rights Workshops

We launched our child rights training workshops in partnership with the Social Welfare Department and the Ghana Education Service in the District, aiming to raise awareness and build capacity among children and educators.

2023

School Workshops

We developed school workshops to address the learning challenges children face and the social issues affecting their education. These workshops reached students in 20 schools across three different communities.

Transformative stories 

  • Knowledge of child rights jumped from 38% to 84%. Teachers reported a 67% increase in confidence in recognising and addressing abuse.

  • Periods should never keep girls from school. Today, 74% of girls attend with confidence thanks to our sanitary pad distributions.

  • LEGO sessions helped 120 students unlock teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving.

Beyond the Classroom

  • Classroom Renovations: In less than a year, we’ve renovated 6+ classrooms, adding fresh paint, chalkboards, new doors and windows, and repairing cracked floors.
  • School Trips: We took final-year students on an unforgettable trip to the Red Clay Studio in the Northern Region, created by world-renowned artist Ibrahim Mahama opening their eyes to new ideas and possibilities.
  • Parent Engagement: Over 80 parents joined our PTA meetings to learn, share, and support their children’s education.
  • Community Radio – Our radio shows on the importance of basic education reached 500+ listeners, sparking conversations across households.
Leaving my community and visiting somewhere new made me feel excited and helped me appreciate my community more. I would tell my friends and parents that the trip was fun and educational! I learned a lot and had a great experience.

Since the [LEGO] workshop, I have seen the students become more confident in their teamwork and think more creatively. I would want my school to do something like this again because it fosters creativity and teamwork in a fun environment.
