I am Rufina, the Headmistress of Siniensi Junior High School. I have been here for a year. I do not teach; I only take over when a teacher is not available to teach.

For me, teaching is a passion, and being able to pass on that knowledge to the future of students is most important to me. I have always loved that.

Before I became the Headmistress of Siniensi JHS, Homeland Ghana was already working in the school and had done a lot. The provision of logistics and other essentials, like marker boards and books, has created a good atmosphere for teaching and learning.

One particular support that has made a difference is the provision of textbooks because teaching is much easier in terms of interactions amongst students. Students now take part in reading, and it is boosting the overall performance of students.

Homeland Ghana has made our school stand out in terms of the support we have received. We see our school as different from other schools. We appreciate your support, and we wish you to do more for us.

The support in education is important because we are somewhat marginalised in terms of support and also because of the distance between us and the district office. Teachers do not accept postings to these parts because of the nature of things here. But with Homeland Ghana supporting us, things are changing for the better.

However, the provision of books and other educational materials is still needed.
