Dora’s Story

Dora smiling in her school classroom in Ghana.

“Homeland Ghana has helped me believe in myself.”

My name is Dora, I am 15 years old, and I like learning and taking part in sports activities.

Before Homeland Ghana began working in my school, it was boring, and some students were not being taught. There was no place to relieve ourselves and no textbooks to learn from.

My favourite things Homeland Ghana did were giving us items like pads, textbooks and marker boards. I was also very happy when they built a washroom for us. I felt good when they introduced the Child Rights workshops.

Through the workshops, I learnt about child abuse and child rights. I feel very excited about school now because I learn more. It is my dream to become a nurse in the future because Homeland Ghana has helped me believe in myself.

If I could tell people about Homeland Ghana, I would say they have done great things for us. God bless them.
