Mavis’s Story

Mavis at Kori Junior High School in Ghana.

“I feel comfortable, and I can now read because of the textbooks they provided us with.”

My name is Mavis. I am 14 years old and I attend Kori Junior High School. I like reading and playing.

Before Homeland Ghana began working in my school, it was boring, and the school was not conducive for learning. We had no doors or windows in my classroom, and the weather was very cold.

A time Homeland Ghana made me happy was when they put doors and windows in our classrooms. I was also very happy when they gave us books, pens and sanitary pads to use during our menstrual periods. I learnt about child rights and child abuse from them.

I feel comfortable, and I can now read because of the textbooks they provided us with. I would like to say thank you to Homeland Ghana.
