“With the introduction of textbooks, it has become easier for me to teach and also aid in student engagement.”

My name is Precious, and I teach Form One, Two and Three. I have taught for three years. What I enjoy about teaching is when I teach and students are able to pick up whatever I teach them. That alone makes me feel happy that whatever I teach them, they understand and are able to practise it.

Before Homeland Ghana came, we had infrastructure problems and no books, but through the support of Homeland Ghana, we have been able to gain access to books and our infrastructure issues have been solved.

Those challenges have an effect on teaching and learning because without them being solved, teachers cannot teach freely. But if there are many books, teachers can teach for students to understand. With the introduction of textbooks, it has become easier for me to teach and also aid in student engagement.

Overall, Homeland Ghana’s impact has been good. With the involvement of Homeland Ghana, the girls get sanitary pads every month. I would still like Homeland Ghana to help us by giving more teaching materials and other personal hygiene items for our students.
