Our Team
Words from Our Founder
I returned to Ghana in 2017 and visited numerous community schools in the Builsa North District. There, I came face to face with the education crisis for the first time. I noticed several differences on my return, but this one thing broke my heart the most, so I decided to act. I learned that a lack of basic education was setting many children back, not just from further education, but also from learning and achieving at the level that should be common for any child anywhere in the world.
Six years ago, I founded Homeland Ghana Educational Foundation with a simple vision: to ensure that children are always in school and learning well. The goal is to see Ghanaian children learning well enough to obtain a basic-level certificate that supports them in work and life. Time and time again we have seen that education helps. It has far-reaching positive effects, from empowering individuals to improving overall family well-being and driving local economic development. After six years of leading this organisation, I am incredibly proud of all the work we have done and excited about the impact we continue to make.
